Camping along the Fraser Canyon on the long weekend in August/ September
Sun, leisure time, BBQs, friends, family, and no where to rush off to makes a weekend of camping in British Columbia one of the best ways to end the summer and get ready to dust off you snow boards and skis. Within weeks, it's suddenly the ski season--not.
Lillooet Day Trip
After a stressful day going through the market and watching the native shows, to say nothing of shopping in Lillooet's quaint town, you just might need to find a spot to rest your weary butt. You can 'leave your hat on' as it's not a legion. It's the original hotel which opened in downtown Lillooet in 1934 and has been serving ice cold Lucky Lager ever since! That beer was first brewed 'in honour' of the hotel's opening day--not!The Historic Village
A beautiful park setting throughout the entire village. Again, don't forget your camera for this outing.
There is much to see. There are short walks that take you up to vistas, and short hikes that take you down to the Anderson and Fraser River. You may even find gold if you bring your pan and spend a few minutes scooping up the black sand wherein the mother load is always found; no one goes home empty-handed. Even if you don't strike it rich while panning, you will have rich 'memories by the score'.Hope to see many more members of the PSC and Victoria Alpine Ski Clubs, people who have a yen to 'get outta' town and have some good old camping fun.
