Manning 2022

E.C. Manning and the Cold Springs Campground

Bruce Chadwick has been our MC and leader in booking this great spot in Parks B.C. for many years.  2022 was no exception.

"Its looks like a nice rig, but Shannon and I think it is time to buy us a brand new unit, one which fits our needs better," Bruce says.

"My unit may be a year or two older, is 3.5 feet longer and only needs TLC to get it to drive across Canada and back. It's a GMC," says Sven.  "Other than a little vapour lock where it may die on you on any given hot day, she runs just fine."

New Radials all around, a new propane heater, a new starter, new front and rear shock absorbers, a 3" lift kit under the rear axles (lifted the back bumper up 11"), new electrical panel and AC and DC breakers, new front disk breaks, new radiator and heater, new stainless steel water lines throughout, the rear cabinets bolted back to the ceiling, all the top seams re-caulked, rear axle seals replaced, otherwise there is nothing much that needs to be replaced.

You can walk out the back of the campsite, follow this ice cold river, and make it all the way to the Manning Lodge.

Joseph with his great SLR camera snaps a few shots.

Shannon has found a few new brands of beer and shows off one of her recent prizes.
Camping is about just sitting around a fire and doing as little as possible.

Both Bruce and Walter agree with the camping theme, while Shannon finds peace by reading an e-book.

We did ride our bikes up to Lightening Lake; Walter and I went in for a very brief swim, and we all hiked around the lake.  Not sure where those photos are, but I'll post them when I find them.
